The first thing that grabbed my attention when I started reading Mr. Meyer's blog was the fact that we share some things in common. We are both fifth year teachers. In addition, we're both relatively young, male, math teachers. I really enjoy the down-to-earth nature of his posts, and appreciate one of his main reasons for creating the blog -- to "figure out how to make this job better and easier." This blog has a much more personal feel than many of the others I've examined. Upon reading his entries, it is obvious that he's living the ups and downs of being a teacher. It's nice to know that you're not the only math teacher in the world who has his fair share of failures in the classroom as opposed to simply touting the victories.
