Tappedin - My Thoughts

Tappedin.org is a site dedicated to change the way teachers are provided with professional development. You can join "groups" to specifically get content and have discussions regarding your specific area and grade levels of interest.

By browsing this site, I found some good resources such as this entry that gave me some nice ideas I could use to "hook" students during some of the first days of school. I'm not sure how much time I'd have during the school year to read/post messages on the discussion board, but this site seems to have some helpful links if you're looking for a particular activity or subject area but need an idea for a classroom activity.

Personally, I feel that this site is much better suited for education than Twitter (see my next post). A feature I haven't mentioned is the "Job Bank." Since it's pretty hard to find teaching jobs these days, this may prove to be a helpful way to get your foot in the door if you're looking.

All-in-all, I think tappedin has potential for being a valuable resource for teachers whether they are looking for professional development in a particular area or simply searching for activities to use in their classrooms.
